Community journalism training to be offered in Hay River

With our second cohort upcoming, Cabin Radio published our initiative details and call for applicants for our March 10-April 4, 2025, training, and interviewed Kaila Jefferd-Moore (Project Director).

The Northern Journalism Training Initiative is offering a four-week community journalism training program in Hay River this spring. From March 10 to April 4, successful applicants aged 18 or over will be offered a program “designed to empower Indigenous and northern people to develop cutting-edge multimedia storytelling skills, dive into the dynamic world of storytelling and the journalism industry, and open doors to exciting new opportunities for participants.”
