Empowering northern people to tell northern stories
From Idea to Inbox: A Virtual Pitch Workshop
Do you have a story about the North that deserves to be told? Join us for a virtual workshop focused on developing strong, impactful pitches for publication. Participants will learn how to identify compelling story ideas, understand what editors look for in a successful pitch and gain practical guidance on structuring pitches for Briarpatch or similar publications.
Whether you’re planning to submit to the Northern Writing Prize or looking to strengthen your pitching skills more broadly, this workshop will explore how to clearly articulate your idea to resonate with editors.
The workshop is designed for participants to bring their own story ideas that they will develop into a pitch ready to send to an editor’s inbox by the end of the workshop.
When: Sunday, February 15, 2026 @ 10AM-1PM MST / 12PM-3PM EST
Where: Virtual (Zoom). Register for the workshop here.
Who: Anyone who has a story they want to pitch*, or who wants to brush up their pitching skills.
